Company History

Based in Swindon, UK, Equiinet is a secure server appliance specialist offering integrated solutions that give controlled, secure, easy and cost-effective access to the Internet and optimize bandwidth over stressed networks. Managing Director Bob Jones has previously headed three successful networking start-ups: Steebek Systems, Mayze Systems and Sonix Communications.

Founded in January 1998 by a team of entrepreneurs with a great track record in computer communication, Equiinet embarked on a major European expansion in April 1999 with the help of £5 million venture funding from Schroder Ventures. More than £2m of new venture funding from Herald Ventures, private investor Jon Moulton and the company's directors was announced in June 2001. Already UK market-leader in Internet server appliances, Equiinet has broadened its product range to include dedicated VPN and smart caching appliances.

Equiinet's product families include; CachePilot: eLearning content delivery solutions, NetPilot: secure Internet server appliances with email and VPN, and SentryPilot:anti-spam, anti-virus and web filtering solutions for larger enterprises.
