Anti-virus capabilities offering a gateway Anti-virus scanning of all incoming, outgoing and internal emails. Anti-spam facilities ensure your staff are not inundated with useless and time consuming emails. Email policy controls give the administrator even greater scope to create more extensive rules to deal with email - customized to your organisation's needs.
NetPilot Lite can act as a company-wide internal and external email server. Virtual mail groups can be set up for different departments through aliasing facilities, which have the added advantage of catching addressing errors. Incoming and/or outgoing emails can be automatically copied or redirected.
For complete flexibility, NetPilot Lite can be set to act as a gateway to other interneal mail server such as Microsoft Exchange.
VPN Connectivity
NetPilot Lite with its accredited Virtual Private Network (VPN) functionality, uses standard IPSec protocols with 3DES encryption or OpenVPN with SSL, to form part of an Internet based VPN. Secure VPN tunnels across the Internet can interconnect NetPilots at differing office locations. In addition, roving sales or support personnel or homeoffice users, can dial into their nearest POP and connect to their central office for the price of a local call. NetPilot Lite can work in conjunction with SafeNet's IPSec PC client or the free OpenVPN client for just these applications.
Advanced Firewall and Security
NetPilot Lite offers a complete security and control package that is powerful, yet easy to administer. Facilities include not only powerful accredited firewalling, but also user access control, web access control, web filters and time-based connectivity control.
NetPilot Lite's firewall has undergone rigorous independent testing and has been awarded Checkmark accreditation.
Controlled High Speed Web Access
NetPilot Lite enables multi-user Internet access through a range of high-speed communications options. It has powerful, yet flexible control facilities to administer local access of external resources, including user restrictions, web access control, web filters and time controls. Some groups or individuals may have rights assigned to use only email, or just web browsing. Which web sites are accessed by which users can be controlled - ranging from a very restricted set of web addresses with no general browsing capability, to fairly widespread rights, with perhaps the exception of pornographic sites. NetPilot Lite utilisesaward winning Brightfilter URL filtering with over 70 categories and more than 10 million sites in its database.
Web Page Caching
To save connection costs to the Internet and speed up user access, Equiinet has introduced caching. This allows popular web sites, pages or parts of pages to be stored locally in NetPilot Lite and to be viewed subsequently by other users without reconnecting to the Internet, unless the content has changed.
Easy to Install
NetPilot Lite is very straightforward to install and extremely easy to use. The network administrator is provided with easily configurable connectors interfaces, which are accessed through a browser interface to NetPilot Lite.
Ongoing Management
NetPilot Lite monitors and reports on a range of activities including online time, the number of incoming and outgoing emails by user, web usage by time of day and firewall rejects. These reports can be automatically collated and sent as a daily email to a system supervisor.
Upgrades and Support
Software updates can be automatically downloaded from the NetPilot upgrade service site. Support staff can check the operation of NetPilot Lite remotely and make online changes if necessary.
