What does the term ‘UTM Premium' mean?
UTM Premium is Equiinet's terminology for its enhanced UTM facilities for NetPilot Plus and Enterprise . This pack includes all security elements available from Equiinet and has the most Checkmark accreditations of any product available.

What does the term ‘UTM Standard' mean?
UTM Standard is Equiinet's terminology for its key UTM facilities and is available for NetPilot Lite, Plus and Enterprise . It is designed for users who don't need all the advanced features offered by UTM Premium. Note: the UTM Standard pack has AV based on Clam, whereas the UTM Premium pack uses Checkmark accredited Sophos.

Which UTM packs come bundled with new NetPilot products?
The two upper end models (the Plus and the Enterprise ) come with a 12 month's UTM Premium subscription. The NetPilot Lite comes with a 25 user UTM Standard subscription. The Remote has no UTM bundled.

What if I want no UTM – I just want a small office Firewall/VPN unit?
The NetPilot Remote is ideal for small offices with up to 15 users and is available without any UTM functionality - just firewall and VPN features.

Can I trade-up my old Cisco, Sonicwall or WatchGuard router for a NetPilot?
Yes. Equiinet will take your old router in part exchange for a NetPilot Plus or NetPilot Enterprise. For details s ee www.netpilot.com/aladdin

Are there ‘number of user' limitations with Standard and Premium UTM packs?
Yes. The Licensed numbers of users for various products is shown in the chart overleaf. If you need to attach more users, contact Equiinet for costs.

My ISP checks for viruses – why should I run Anti-Virus on a NetPilot?
ISPs cannot check for HTTP browser-borne viruses or emails between colleagues on the same site, nor email from additional ISP accounts you may have – whereas NetPilot can! Furthermore, most ISPs don't check for spyware and none check for intrusions.

What is the Software Upgrade Service subscription?
Users who do not subscribe to any UTM pack, nor subscribe to any other applicable support service, should subscribe to a Software Upgrade license to obtain latest operating system updates.

How does UTM Premium block spyware?
Firstly, it uses URL filtering to ensure you don't browse sites that are known to infect PCs. Secondly, NetPilot stores identities of Spyware and blocks them in the same way it blocks viruses. The databases of Spyware and Virus identities are updated automatically by NetPilot.
